2387 Timeline: Stalemates and Hidden Fires
January–February 2387 — The Klingon-Gorn Stalemate
- After years of raids and territorial fighting, Klingon efforts against the Gorn Hegemony grind into a costly stalemate.
- Low support from the Great Houses leaves Klingon commanders short on reinforcements, supplies, and political backing.
- Gorn planetary militias dig into fortified jungle terrain and key defensive worlds, making further Klingon advances slow and expensive.
- With resistance activity rising elsewhere and Dominion pressure increasing, Klingon commanders declare a temporary ceasefire and halt offensive operations.
- The Gorn Hegemony, bloodied but unbroken, reinforces its borders and begins rebuilding around its surviving home systems.
- By February, the Klingon campaign has failed to fully break the Gorn, leaving another unresolved conflict simmering at the edge of Dominion-controlled space.
March–December 2387 — Hidden Fires Spread
- The Lantern Network expands quietly, strengthening links between Fenris Rangers, Badlands cells, Betazoid telepaths, Klingon rebels, Cardassian dissidents, and former Starfleet fugitives.
- The Fenris Rangers survive early Dominion crackdowns and become a recognised frontier force among refugees, smugglers, and abandoned colonies.
- Prime increases DPI surveillance across occupied worlds, convinced that local rebellions are being guided by a single hidden enemy.
- The Founders on Earth and Cardassia Prime grow wary of Prime’s obsession, fearing that paranoia is making the occupation more brittle.
- On Cardassia, Damar’s doubts deepen as Dominion demands, resistance rumours, and Dukat’s Badlands broadcasts continue to spread among disillusioned officers.
- By the end of 2387, no single front has exploded, but resistance across the quadrant has become harder to dismiss, harder to isolate, and harder to kill.
