Welcome to Thresher
Using the Lore Pages
The lore pages are here to help writers understand the world of the game, especially the altered timeline, the state of the Alpha Quadrant, and the major powers, factions and resistance groups shaping the story.
This setting does not follow the standard Star Trek timeline after the Dominion War. Events have diverged heavily, with the Federation falling, the Dominion occupying former Federation space, resistance movements rising in the shadows, and Avalon Station becoming an important part of what comes next. Because of that, writers are encouraged to explore the timeline and related lore pages before writing posts, creating characters or planning mission ideas.
You do not need to memorise everything. The lore is there as a reference, not a test. Start with the main timeline to understand the broad shape of history, then look at pages linked to your character, department, species, faction or current mission. If your character has a connection to Starfleet, the Dominion occupation, the Lantern Network, Avalon Station, the Badlands, Cardassia, Bajor, Earth, or any major resistance group, the lore pages will help keep posts consistent with the game’s background.
When in doubt, check the lore first. It will help avoid accidental contradictions and may also give you ideas for personal history, character trauma, alliances, old enemies, family connections, mission hooks and future development.
The lore is meant to support creativity, not restrict it. Think of it as the map beneath the story: you can still choose your own path, but it helps to know where the roads, ruins and warning signs are.
